Why satellite TV?

For what seems as like the past 2 years TV stations have been preparing us for the change from Analog TV to Digital TV. This change is slated to take place in Feb.17, 09. Here is the crux of the situation. If you are receiving your TV signal through a traditional antenna on your roof, or via "Rabbit Ears" on top of your TV set, you will no longer be able to view your TV channels. You will have to do one of three things.

1. Get a converter box.

With a converter box you still use your antenna or "Rabbit Ears", receive the signal, and have the box convert the signal from analog to digital. There are programs out there to get get converter boxes at a discount, but this also will only allow you to receive the few channels you have been receiving.

2. Subscribe to a cable provider.

A cable provider such as Comcast, Brighthouse, etc. are fine but you usually have to live in a more populous area to have cable run to your house. There are still times when you live on the outskirts of a town that cable can still not be run to your house unless the providers deem it profitable. Meaning, they will not run it just for you, you need to convince your neighbors to sign up too. Of course the cable company will not discount any service to you for drumming up more business for them.

3. Subscribe to a Satellite TV provider.

The best solution is to get a satellite dish from a trusted satellite TV provider. This allows even those out in the "boonies" to get not just the big 4 channels, but also the basic cable programming available to most others as well as the local affiliates. The dish itself affixes to the side of one's house and does not damage the roof in any way. They are built to withstand the wind and the rain. Another great thing about satellite is that you can get a portable set-up so you can have TV follow you on camping trips, tailgating or just about anywhere you wish to go.

To check out what is available to you, visit the provider below and investigate which option is best for you. There is excellent programming with a wide arrange of HD, PPV and Movie channels.
